Five more cases test positive in J&K, toll mounts to 33 | KNO

Srinagar, Mar 28 (KNO): The Covid-19 positive cases have shown a sudden spurt in Kashmir with five more cases being reported from Jammu and Kashmir of which two are from Srinagar and three from Jammu taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 33 including the one who recovered and the one who passed away. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO),  a tweet posted by  official spokesperson Rohit Kansal soon after addressing a press conference in Jammu said: “Hardly do I finish my press conference briefing 28-cases, that I get more unpleasant news-5 new positive cases-2 in Srinagar and 2 in Jammu—all contacts previously positive ones. All Jammu cases asymptomatic. We are at 33 now.” Earlier, nodal officer Kashmir for COVID-19 Dr SM Qadri had stated that  47 samples were collected today across the valley and among the earlier samples turned to be positive as of now and many suspected cases have been kept in isolation at chest disease hospital Srinagar and SKIMS. In his earlier tweet, Kansal had stated," Tough to be harbinger of unpleasant news. But being informed is being prepared. 7 more positive  cases in Srinagar today. 4 cases- history of contact with already positive cases of religious congregation; other three- travel history outside J&K contacts being traced". Earlier, addressing a presser in Jammu in the evening, Kansal said that in Jammu and Kashmir, there are 28 positive cases among which only 25 are active, two have recovered with 21 cases from Kashmir and four from Jammu. He said that the government is closely monitoring the situation and there is spurt in the cases in past weeks or so, adding that the aggressive efforts are underway to trace every single contact and test them it may cause some inconvenience but this is where government needs your (people’s) support to understand the situation. As per the government figures the total number of positive cases across the Jammu and Kashmir has mounted to 33 now with fresh five cases two from Srinagar and three from Jammu—(KNO)
